Multiplayer, Safe Zone, PvP and Moderation

Server size, the safe zone, PvP rules, the Traitor, reports, penalties, AFK kick, general rules.

Server

In the alpha, one server holds up to 16 players. The world is shared: the same weather for everyone, shared animals, shared veins. Your progress (level, items, money) is stored on the server.

After major updates there may be a wipe (a reset of the world and items). GOLD is not reset in a wipe.

Safe zone and PvP

  • Safe zone (Vankli, the beach, the start of the spit where the Elder lives): the server blocks player-vs-player damage. You can't hit each other.
  • Outside it, PvP is allowed. Newcomers have no protection outside the zone.
  • The exception: the Traitor, a secretly chosen player (Lv. 10+) who can kill even in the safe zone. Self-defense against them is allowed for 60 seconds.
  • Killing people and looting other players' bags lowers your reputation (TOR doesn't listen to "Outcasts").

Reports and support

  • /report nick reason sends a report to the moderators. Or use the player wheel (Left Alt) → "Report".
  • /support text sends a question to support.
  • Be specific: the nickname, what happened, and when.

Moderation (what players see)

The team has moderators and administrators ([MOD] and [ADMIN] badges). They can:

  • Mute a player: you can't write or speak in chat for the given time.
  • Kick a player from the game for a while.
  • Ban permanently (administrators only). The reason is always given. If you think a penalty is a mistake, write to support.

Rules of conduct: no insults or threats, no cheating in deals, no exploits or bots (bots and alt accounts are heavily restricted by account limits). Anyone can mute a player locally through the wheel.

AFK

When the server is 80 % full (13 of 16), a player who hasn't done anything for 20 minutes gets disconnected. Progress is saved.

Account

  • You log in via the launcher and Telegram; you can change your nickname once for free (launcher 2.0.2+).
  • New accounts have restrictions on money transfers and on the buyer (see Economy).

Known alpha limitations

Graphics on Mac/in virtual machines: if the island looks like it's "underwater", type /terrain. You can't swim: neck-deep water acts as a barrier (there's no underwater mode).
