Hunting Wild Animals
Every animal type — levels, health, damage, temperament, loot, respawn, how to skin them and how not to die.
Animals live in the jungle. The rule is simple: the farther from Vankli, the higher the level and the stronger the animal. Above an animal's name you can see its level, a health bar (red) and a danger icon: yellow ⚠ — medium danger, red ⚠ — dangerous animal.
Near town: rats, coyotes, gazelles, monkeys. About a kilometer out: small boars and warthogs. Farther away: large boars, cobras, leopards, pumas, bears (from 3–5 km).

A detailed list with speeds is in the Bestiary.
How an animal scales with level
- Health = base × (1 + 0.018 × (level − 1))
- Damage = base × (1 + 0.012 × (level − 1))
- XP = base × (1 + 0.05 × (level − 1))
- Loot amount = base × (1 + 0.015 × (level − 1))
Examples: a Lv. 60 bear has about 1,320 HP / 94 damage; at Lv. 95 — about 1,720 HP / 117 damage.
Temperament and traits
- Rat, goose — don't attack, they run away.
- Coyote — runs away, but strikes back if you hit it; the whole pack comes to help.
- Monkey, macaque — attack you.
- Gazelle — runs away, snaps back if you hit it.
- Deer — peaceful, runs away; gives meat and hide.
- Small and large boars, warthog — attack and ram you with a charge. The warthog is weaker than the large boar.
- Cobra — an ambusher, doesn't chase you; its bite is venomous: the venom drains your health and is cured with medicinal corn.
- Leopards (white and regular), puma — fast predators.
- Bear — the most dangerous animal on land (640 base HP, 55 damage).
- Crocodile — lives in rivers (not yet spawned in the alpha).
- Vulture — a flying bird that dives at you. Found only on the Land of the Rotten.
Skinning
- Kill the animal, walk up to the carcass and press F.
- You need a knife in your hand (hunting knife); every carcass wears down the knife.
- For big game (bear, large boar, leopards, puma, crocodile) you need a hunter license (Lv. 9, reputation 5, 900 ASD).
- You get meat, leather and fiber (fiber only from big animals). Fiber is needed for clothing and rope.
Combat
- Headshots deal more damage.
- Silver weapons hit predators ×1.5.
- Until an animal is dead, no single hit can take off more than half its health: you can't kill it in one hit.
- A player kills an animal of the same level in about 9–11 hits, while the animal kills the player in 3–5 hits — don't take on higher-level animals without armor (there's no armor yet) and medicine.
Respawn
After death, an animal comes back in 45 minutes to 4 hours at a new random spot (no closer than 150 m to players and out of sight). The more active players in a species' ring, the more animals there are (up to ×10 on regular rings, up to ×16 on Lv. 55+ rings). The overall limit is 850 animals per server.
Hunting for jobs
The job board pays for killing large boars (7 = 95 ASD) and warthogs (5 = 85 ASD): you need a hunter license.
Where animals live
The farther from Vankli, the more dangerous the animal and the higher its level. Distance is measured from the Vankli settlement.
| Animal | Where it's most common |
|---|---|
| Rat | near Vankli and in the middle of the island (up to 1.5 km) — training prey |
| Coyote | middle of the island (0.6–1.5 km), sometimes near Vankli |
| Gazelle | middle of the island, less often the far lands |
| Small boar | middle of the island and the far lands (0.6–3 km) |
| Goose | everywhere, most of all on the outskirts (beyond 3 km) |
| Monkey | middle of the island and the outskirts |
| Large boar | far lands (1.5–3 km) |
| Warthog | far lands (1.5–3 km) |
| Cobra | far lands (1.5–3 km) |
| White leopard | far lands (1.5–3 km) |
| Crocodile | near water: middle of the island and the outskirts |
| Puma | outskirts (beyond 3 km) |
| Bear | outskirts (beyond 3 km) |
| Leopard | outskirts (beyond 3 km) |
| Vulture | only the Land of the Rotten |
| Deer, fallow deer | near Vankli |
