Tribes and Clans

How to found a tribe and what it costs, ranks and permissions, XP and levels 1–100, treasury, titles and bonuses, tabs of the /tribe window, status of tournaments and the Gold Mine island.

A tribe is a group of players with its own treasury, level, emblem and title, and the title gives every member bonuses. To open the tribe window, type /tribe (or /clan).

How to found one

Requirement Value
License "Chieftain's Charter" from TOR
Player level 15
Reputation 30
Price 10,000 ASD (one-time, the license never expires)
Name 3–16 characters, no double spaces
Description up to 250 characters
Emblem a ready-made icon or your own PNG image, up to 128 px and 24 KB

The founder becomes the Chief. A player can belong to only one tribe.

Joining and leaving

  • You can have at most 3 applications open at once; an application stays valid for 7 days. The Chief or an Elder reviews it.
  • After leaving or being expelled, you can rejoin your former tribe after 24 hours.
  • The Chief can't leave while there are other members: first hand over the Chief role, or disband the tribe (if you're the only one left). When a tribe is disbanded, its treasury is lost.

Ranks and permissions

Rank What they can do
Novice use title bonuses, donate to the treasury, see members
Warrior the same (promoted manually)
Elder accept and decline applications, expel lower ranks, level up the tribe
Chief everything above, plus promoting and demoting ranks (Novice, Warrior, Elder), handing over the Chief role, changing the description and emblem, disbanding the tribe

A tribe can have 2 + level ÷ 10 Elders. Only the Chief changes ranks (up to Elder); above that there's only handing over the Chief role, and the former Chief becomes an Elder.

XP and levels (1–100)

Where tribe XP comes from

  • 10 % of the XP its members earn.
  • 1 XP for every ASD donated to the treasury.
  • Resources give no XP: they're only needed for leveling up.

Formulas

  • XP to the next level: 2000 × 1.05^(level − 1).
  • Money to level up (from the treasury): 1000 × 1.06^(level − 1) ASD.
  • Member slots: 14 + level.
Level XP to next ASD from treasury Slots
1 2,000 1,000 15
5 2,431 1,262 19
10 3,103 1,689 24
20 5,054 3,026 34
30 8,232 5,418 44
50 21,843 17,378 64
75 73,967 74,582 89
99 238,551 301,978 113

Reaching level 100 takes about 5 million ASD and XP in total. A tribe of ~30 active players earns 4–5 thousand XP a day: level 50 in roughly 3 months.

Every tenth level (10, 20 … 100) also requires resources from the treasury, multiplied by the tens digit (×1 for level 10, ×2 for level 20, and so on): 100 planks, 200 stone shards, 50 metal shards, 30 leather, 200 nails.

The Chief or an Elder levels up the tribe with the "Level up" button once the XP is earned and the treasury has enough ASD and resources.

Treasury

  • Anyone can donate: money (from 1 ASD) and simple resources from the "Resources" group (not ore, ingots, deeds, or items with a level or durability).
  • The treasury is a sink: you can't take anything out of it. It's only spent on leveling up. You can't move money through the tribe, and a Chief can't run off with the treasury.
  • You can't donate while trading with another player.

The /tribe window: tabs

Overview, Members and Treasury (for members), Applications (for Elders and the Chief), Titles (bonus table), Tournaments, Tribes (a list of all tribes by level and XP), Management (for the Chief), Create (if you're not in a tribe).

Wars, alliances and tournaments

There are no wars or alliances between tribes in the game. The "Tournaments" tab is marked "coming soon": the schedule, applications, win table and rewards aren't available. The plan is a capture-the-flag contest on the island with the lion; the winner gets XP and medals.

The Gold Mine island and your tribe

By design, the winning clan holds the mine's flag for a week and gets 30 % of the gold mined (the other 70 % goes to the miner; silver and bronze go entirely to the miner; the clan needs 8+ members at level 25+). This doesn't work yet ("coming soon"): gold goes to the miner, and the clan gets no share TBD.
